Is it not supposed to be 500/500? I've been upgraded from 100/100 which most of the time was pretty close, currently my router (tp-link wdr3600) is maxing out at 112/109 the limitations of an older device with limited CPU/packet scheduler. I was considering taking Time's offer of an upgrade to a c1200 but it seems it still isn't actually up to the job. May have to see what better options there are available to but locally, I was considering https://www.amazon.co.uk/Linksys-WRT3200ACM-UK-MU-MIMO-Gigabit-Router/dp/B01MF9OQC8 if I can find it here.

Not only TIME modified their product offerings and prices: https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nati...es-after-msap/

I have TIME and got upgraded from 100 to 500 Mbps. The upload speed is about 190 Mbps, whereas download is 500 Mbps. So there is some asymmetry, which wasn't there when I was on 100 Mbps. However, I have no use for the 500 Mbps and would like to move to the cheaper 100 Mbps package. I hope that TIME allows that, without hidden penalties (e.g. administration fees, or a "reset" on the contract duration).

You could downgrage to the cheaper package but the contract duration will be reset and you also loose any promotion/discount of the current contract if any (in my case the RM 20/month for new customers). I am now after them to complain about that but their hotline is busy all the time...

This is the message that I received when downgraded using Selfcare: "A new 24-month contract term will commence upon your new plan activation."

I received the same message after I submitted my application to downgrade. I figured that I will live here for more than two years, so this reset does not really cause me any harm.

I tried to call their Customer Service. I was put on hold for a long time and then got disconnected... Does anyone know if Time has an office in Penang where you can talk to a real person? Thanks.

Yeah I got the same message after choosing to get a new *free* router, still reckon we'll be keeping Time when we move so no worries.

I got through okay on the phone not aware of a local office, they responded to a facebook PM pretty quick too, if you wanted to try that.

Lucky you! I did not get through at all after several days of trying. I tried the Facebook Messenger as well, but their answers look like computer generated ones...

Well no problems with the router swap. Time guy called the evening before to my wife's mobile (account in her name as she's the local) to confirm the time. Turned up next day on time was here around an hour maybe a bit over to swap the router, check all working, perfectly happy with that part of it. The TP-Link C1200 in terms of functionality is a little light from my previous router running 3rd party firmware, took me a while to reconfigure the local network how I want it and to set up my virtual servers again, in the process I swapped the time firmware for the latest TP-Link generic for the router. Line speed is much better not actually reaching 500/500 more like ~400/400 depending on when tested. Without access to another 1Gbps router impossible to tell if it is the C1200 or the line other than that everything seems to work.
