Hi all, we're possibly relocating to KL in August this yr from the UK and we will be living in Subang and have the use of a car.
I'm looking for feedback on good schools within the area, with exception to Alice Smith as it's way out of our price range.
My two children are 11 & 14 years, I've had a look at the following schools on the internet :
Garden International
ELC
Nexus
Tenby
Our budget is between £15-20k for both children per year. I like the look of Nexus but not sure of the location and possibly ELC as well.
So if anybody has any views they can share I would be most grateful.
Many Thanks

Well there is no difference in price between AS and Garden so that would presumably be out as well? I've heard negative comments about Tenby and some decent feedback on ELC. Also have a look at Desa Park City. Not sure about Nexus, sorry....

Hi whybirda and
to BE. There's quite a lot of threads on schools on the Malaysian forum. You might also want to do a search through existing threads too. If you go to main Malaysia forum menu, you'll see a search button up on top right handside. All the best.

Many thanks both for your replies, I like the look of Garden International and it's not that far away from where we'll be living as we will have a car which is good. I don't suppose you have any ideas about waiting lists etc for schools? as we'll be moving at the end of Aug so I'm hoping that kids will have places in schools for the Sept term.
Thanks
Thanks

Waiting lists depend on the year group. I would recommend calling them as soon as possible. Garden has an excellent reputation but would also be most likely to have wait lists bc it is very popular..

Its hard to tell which years have wait lists bc people come and go so regularly. I have heard that there are waits for pre school and reception there but other than that I'm not sure. I believe Garden tries to achieve a 70/30 mix between expats and Malaysian kids and there is generally a 'wait' on the Malaysian side of the list...

Thanks ever so much for the info, this is the only bit of the move that is stressing me out, is getting them both into a school as it's all a waiting game.

Definitely try and get that sorted first and let the rest fall into place :-). Good luck!
If you do decide on Garden, and after the assessment process and acceptance make sure you have funds in hand to pay the registration, deposit and first terms fee's in advance: they generally give you no more than a couple of weeks to get all of this to them...

Yes I'll be happy once schooling is sorted out and the fees aren't a problem as my husbands employers are helping us with this.
Thanks again for your help
