Here is a recording I made in the botanical gardens at 7AM this morning, sounds even more like a sawmill, don't you think?

Just sounds like insect noises to me. You can hear it in the jungly bits of Singapore too.

I think it sounds more like cutting through metal than wood, so you may be wrong about the sawmill comarison.

Yes, you're right but I couldn't think of a way to describe that. It's unbelievably loud, borderline painful.

Yeh not like the good old-fashioned European cicadas that you get on Greek islands eh. I wonder why that is. Different type of cicada?
