Default Making investments in the UK as a Non Resident

A rather specific question but does anyone here bank with HSBC in both the UK and Malaysia? If so, have you then been able to access the UK 'Global Investment Cente'? I've got some capital in the UK that I'd like to reinvest in some funds but its proving difficult as a 'Non resident'.

OK, let me recast the question a bit as HSBC are proving to be a pain in the derrière.

How do UK non residents on this forum manage any remaining capital investments they have in the UK? What vehicle/means are they using?

A bit second-hand info only, as I don't currently have any UK dosh, just a dormant UK bank account which patiently awaits a State Pension in the distant future but..... I know of several folks here in Penang who use HSBC and have accounts in both the UK (and other countries) and here in Malaysia. They say it seems to work well with the "Premier" facility.

That's all I know I'm afraid.

Hi Nakrob

I have a Premier account with HSBC, but unfortunately, I know nothing about their capital investments schemes or products. I just use HSBC if I need to transfer funds over from the UK. It's quick and easy.

Even in Malaysia, I transfer from HSBC to a local bank for which I have cards etc. and use that as my main banking facility.

Regards
Abdul

Thanks for replies. I'm currently with HSBC so I know the Premier and global transfer situation. It was just the 'investing in the UK when not in the UK' issue that I was tackling. HSBC have recently been in touch and clarified a few things for mew hitch has helped and not helped if you know what I mean.
