how many British expats are there in Malaysia?

Wow. Thats quite a few. Fair chance of being able to find someone to discuss the premiership results and weather at the weekend then...

Ha, well, in a country of 32 million, 13,000 isn't so much, but it would also depend on where you were living. If you're in KL then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. In my experience expats tend to socialise together regardless of nationality. Being an expat is a bigger common factor than being British. Most of my friends in Japan were Swedish and my drinking buddies in Germany were Lithuanian and Venezuelan. Paris is the only time I've spent the majority of my time with other British expats and that was due to the fact that most of my colleagues were British.
