Hi folks,

just wondered, as wife and I have heard our new bungalow in Sungai Petani , Kedah is finally complete...would anyone know any reliable and not expensive renovators in that area? the place is very much an empty shell so new grills,kitchen, lighting,air-con etc all need fitting.

Kenny, when it comes to reno in Malaysia, if possible, dont engage on a single contractor to do EVERYTHING.

You will end up paying more because the main contractor will ask his friend to do it and get some referral fee.

The alarm guy I gave you is my elder brother actually but yeah he has been in this business for 18 years ... just being honest :-)

thanks again. but if I get a written or oral quote before beginning the work,wont that be enough? though am often being told everyone is out to rip off everyone else here

What I mean is for electricity renovtion, like add extra points or extension, get an electrician, whereas kitchen cabinet, house extension, wood work , touch up furnishing is done by the main con.

Alarm, security, autogate, cctv is definitely another person as you do not want to be the one taking care of the alarm instead of it taking care of you.

Yes a quote comparison is always needed with the type of material being use wherever applicable. No point getting the cheapest quote with plastic as material?

You may want to engage on an interior designer if you have the budget.
