House Move

Hi Guys
Hope everyone is ok. Couple of questions, for those of you that have moved to Malaysia from England, could anyone recommend a good removal company based in the England please, plus has anyone who has moved across taken their gas cooker with them and did you have any issues doing so.

Thanks Simon.

Are you sure that the gas in England is the same as what they sell in Malaysia in bottles?

There will be no issues. And I don´t know how superfancy your gascooker is, but usually this is the item people not bring to Malaysia, because the Asians are the world leaders. Locals love the Rinnai brand from Japan. While same brand induction fields or baking ovens are much more expensive in Malaysia, gas cookers are much cheaper.

I used Pickfords International for my move from UK to Malaysia (actually shipped from the Isle of Man -> Pickfords International Leeds -> Malaysia). I think you will find a UK Gas cooker a bit pointless in Malaysia, since mains gas has pretty limited availability (not exactly needed for central heating, unlike the UK). The locals tend to run standalone hubs off bottle gas, but these generate quite a lot of heat in an otherwise hot kitchen. My own personal preference is to use a halogen hub and a standalone electric cooker.

Even if you move to an apartment or house with mains gas supply, there is also the question of compatibility. I am not sure if the pressure, type and quality of Malaysian mains gas would SAFELY operate a UK Gas cooker although the manufacturer might be able to answer that.

I've stopped using gas stove tops and ceramic cook tops. I find they are emitting too much heat and wastage. Have been using 2 portable Induction stove I got from Tesco which have been very reliable and fast. Of course you need to use cookware that are compatible with the induction, which i did.

I wouldn’t waste shipping volume on bringing a gas cooker. Plenty here. We do have mains gas.
we have an inherited Aus bbq that struggles with the different lpg pressures.
