Health insurance - pregnancy cover?

So we plan on staying here long term but work does not cover pregnancy in health insurance.

Can you recommend health insurance companies for pregnancy?

We looked at AXA, but you have to be a member for 12 months before they cover you??

Help please.

I doubt if any insurance will cover getting pregnant within 9-10 months.

Ok, but does that mean that you can become pregnant and in that time you have health insurance but not covered but after 9 months when you deliver you are covered??

Or is the waiting period from when you conceive or deliver? confusing!

Anyone have a good reputable health insurance company you can recommend?

If you are located in Penang I might have a recommended insurance agent, who helped other BE members and myself in a very professional way.

The agent I referred to works for AIA. But I don't know whether AIA is a suitable option for your situation.

I couldn't find any when I looked except for BUPA but their costs are astronomical if you are not underwritten by your employer. Most should however cover complications of pregnancy. Check expected costs for delivery - you are probably better off just paying for the birth yourself.

Same with all others. And these insurances donĀ“t cover much, totally different than Europe.

I would recommend to go back to your home country to give birth 4 to 6 weeks before giving birth. Anyway the kid will not get Malaysia nationality.
