Default Fact-finding visit to Penang

Hi All, I will be visiting Penang for a week in October 2019 with a view to getting a feel for what it would be like to live there and generally gather as many facts as possible. Anyone know of any professional guides who help with this kind of thing? Thanks!

I'm not sure what kind of facts you are looking for, and therefore in which areas your guide would need to be a professional.
There are some MM2H agencies located in Penang, but they focus on getting your MM2H application done. They usually also have some connections to real estate agents, and health insurance companies. I don't think that they would be willing to be hired as a "tour guide".

When you take a grab car ask the driver about the area. Things to do places to eat. Rent the electric bikes and do the Georgetown art ride. We took grab car/taxis every where they gave us lots of ideas. Ran into one who also worked in real estate. Drove during the off hours. I wish we had more time. The electric bike tour was fun.
We stayed at an airbnb and some hotels. Malaysia was pretty friendly place. Easy to talk to people. My wife love's durian. We asked the drivers where to buy it. They know the good spots.

Professionals are normally only found in larger cities where employers outsource such help to relocation specialists. Best bet unless you can get a personal recommendation is Google, and you will have to pay professional prices for a professional

You could always have a look at the Penang Trip Advisor forum. There’s lots of information which you would probably find useful in the Top questions section to the right of the page.
