Cell phones

In the Philippines cell phones cost about 30GBP for a cheap and functional one. Loading is by scratch card and it is cheap to do, no packages etc

What are the options in Malaysia and which is the best in the opinion of those who use it? I have gone through some pages of past threads to see if I could get the info needed

Re: Cell phones

If you want a cheap working phone then you can head to pretty much any shopping mall and pick one up from RM 80 (16 GBP) - I would recommend Maxis as a provider from a signal point of view although if using "pay as you go" it can prove to be quite expensive. I know Maxis offer some great business deals.
For Top Up - You can top up using scratch cards, just type in the number and press call and it re loads for you.
Contract - I'm not the best person to feedback on as my main phone is the work phone. As I mentioned - business wise - our management team, boat drivers & mini bus drivers all have a work phone - calls & SMS between these numbers is ridiculously cheap.
