If i have an International license. Can i buy a vehicle in Singapore and use it in Malaysia?
I've read a few topics on it but with conflicting issues. Some say you can, but only if you register it with a relative or close friend who is Singaporean.
Here are 2 comments i recently read:
Or incorporate a small $2 company
in Singapore, whose business is to buy vehicles and rent to (guess who) us
Malaysians! Except that the only customers will be the companys
directors/share holders/partners.
Then the capital contribution each of us has to make is equal in value to
that of our vehicle. So say you bought a vehicle for S$5,000 under the companys
name then your stake in the company is S$5,000 (+ whatever modest fee/taxes
we have to pay to establish the company).
I'm a johorean workin in singapore... riding a shadow 400. Yes u need to
convert ur license to sg or int b4 purchasing a sg bike. It's legal to use
it in malaysia as i've already done the proper checks with jpj, as long as
u have a valid insurance n rd tax in sg. annual ins (sgd200-3rd pty)
rdtax(sgd80/yr).. which is abt RM600 annually!
so it's not a prob having a sg registered bike in malaysia, but mind it
that u have to bring it down for inspection annualy b4 renewing ur rd tax...
my bike and insurance is registered under my name at my home add in johor...
and i'm using int driving license n it's legal to use it in sg too...
u need to submit the license copy to sg rtd b4 transfering the ownership.
If this the above comments true?

I don't have the answer I'm afraid, but just wondering why you would want to. Singapore is the most expensive country in the world to own a car.
