Bag snatches at Tesco car park Tanjung Tokong
Ladies, take note please!!
I've seen a shared post going round Farcebook where somebody had an attempted bag snatch in the car park of Tesco. I presume this was a motor-biker as there always seems to be guys whizzing about on the upper level of car park seemingly going nowhere
I heard of another robbery (friend of friend) outside Tesco...this was sometime ago. Maybe a year ago.
So please be vigilant and be aware of who is around you. These things happen sometimes in Penang.

I would expect a big company like Tesco to take customer safety seriously, and to have CCTV monitoring its car parks. Does it have them at the Tanjong Tokong branch? I’ve not noticed.
Having CCTV, and for the cameras to be actually recording, may be a different story of course - TIM.

I've not noticed either.
These things seem to go in phases. I remember something happening inside Cold Storage once, maybe a year or two ago. One of those scams where one person distracts, and the other goes diving into bag for purse.
You just seem to hear about these things maybe once or twice a year. They happen. It's not particularly common (I think). But folks just need to be vigilant at all times, like you would anywhere in the world. (And I speak from bitter experience hahaha)
