Anyone Living In Pahang?
Wonder if anyone on BE has taken up residence in this State? Pahang has always been one of my favourite states in Malaysia.
Reasons being of course the diversity found within it's borders. From Taman Negara(National Park) to the beautiful Palau Tioman(island) nice Pantai(beach) at Cherating to the Hill Resorts of Frazer and Genting as well as my favoutite Cameroon Highlands Such a choice of climate and geography but doesn't appear to be attracting folk on making Malaysia their Second Home, visas. Anyone with any ideas as to why not? |
Re: Anyone Living In Pahang?
I think I know the answer. I believe the State limit for buying property is quite high prob to deter foreigners ? I saw a thread on this somewhere I'll see if I can find. I'll PM if I cannot find
FWIw I met a western couple last week who used to live in Kuantan and they loved it there but Mrs got bored, moved to Penang, now they miss kuantN and miss friends (locals) |
Re: Anyone Living In Pahang?
Okay I've found one of the threads that I saw, which is here on the my2home info website.
http://www.my2home.info/index.php/to....html#msg17114 As suspected, the State gov of Pahang imposes a minimum purchase of RM 750K. I know there was another thread going on there about it and someone pointed out that it would be very difficult to actually find a property RM 750K+ in Pahang, unless you made a bid for the Sultan's palace  I think the speculation was that the State didn't want too many foreigners buying (think Singaporeans). In Penang minimum for foreigners is RM 500K UNLESS you have the MM2H visa, in which case minimum is RM 250K currently. |
Re: Anyone Living In Pahang?
An ex employee at Motour thought that Pahang had got in line with other BN states and reduced to RM500k, however to be sure would need to contact the Pahang state Government

Re: Anyone Living In Pahang?
Wonder if it was true that the Pahang State Government was going to make the cost uniform with other(as far as i'm aware) mainland states.
Came across an American fellow whom appeared happily settled near Kuantan,on another website, but seems few have relocated there. Or else they have better things to do that pass the time on the internet.lol. |
