My partner is looking to come over to KL with me for 2 years, he is an electrician and would be looking for similar work. Does anybody know if there are any regulations or qualifications he would need to have which are specific to working in KL? He is already qualified upto 17th edition including testing.

Any help would be great!!

Presumably he will need to check out if he can get a work visa first?

At the moment, I'm unsure what we'll need. We're not concerned about him starting work straight away. Would it be possible for him to come over as a visitor and then apply for a work permit when he's ready to start applying? Or will he need this before he come's over?

Not sure it's a work permit. Presume he would have to set up in business? Or is he planning to work for a company here? He would need to check out what is allowed. Abdul has written a fair bit on the forum about setting up in business.
