Are all Irish pubs Indian pubs here?
Was doing a little Drinks Price Survey around Straits Quay a few days ago - so expensive lah Walked into one "Irish pub" and noted that all staff and manager were Indian.
A couple of nights ago thought we would try out a pub called Fergies. Fergies - Irish right?? And there's little shamrock motifs in the window. Again, all Indian staff, Indian manager. We took a look at the extensive menu and the Manager says Do you like Indian food? And steered us towards the Indian section, heh heh. Anyway, not complaining. We had the Indian food and it was excellent. Just a bit weird with the Irish thing.

Generally no Muslims serve in a bar, so that leaves Indian and Chinese in the Peninsular. East Malaysia is a different discussion.
Maybe it could be because Chinese like to sit down and get legless, whereas Indians prefer to drink after hours...all night in fact. Its also a way of extracting money from the Chinese.
Certainly very many Chinese men and women will have at least 1 small bottle of Hak Gow..Black Dog...the emblem for Guinness in this part of the world, for strictly health reasons. The advertisement says ""Guinness is good for you" and so it is.
