George Best and Alex Higgins. Two lads from Belfast who were the best in the world at one point in their careers but ruined by drink.

It was watching him in the early 80s that got me into snooker in the first place.
I did see Ronnie, who I consider to be his spiritual successor, on Junior Pot Black in 1991 I think it was. I remember thinking at the time he was a bit decent

Happens. It is a curse is any addition or compulsion, not a choice. Some may fare better than others but those with this have that ultimate struggle so lets be kind as it could be anyone struggling.

Not that two world championships is anything to sneer at but Alex could have been world number one and had more world titles if he'd been more consistent. Certainly 1980 anyway, if not 1976 or more, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Fauda and Caliphate (both on Netflix) are pretty good too. English audio available.
For fans of Spiral (Engrenages) the 8th and final season should be available in January.

Doctor Who
I wasn't especially grabbed by S12 and then had other priorities.
But episode 5, Fugitive of the Judoon...what can I say? I was absolutely blown away.
No spoilers other than to say it was brilliant and everything it should be. Best for a long time.
