The kids and I are watching some crappy game show on telly, a rather obese contestant is introduced, the presenter asks her name and where she comes from 'My name's Sally and I'm from Birmingham' comes the reply.
My 10 year old pipes up, 'Where did she say she came from, Burger King?'

Just had a lovely conversation with my 'step-daughter'. Her father and I divorced over 13 years ago and she and I never thought she and I had a very smooth relationship but over the last 5 years or so we have spent some lovely times together. She lives in SFO and called me to say she was just hanging her washing out on the line and it brought back memories of her and I doing that together in our garden in England when she was a young girl. She thanked me for being such a great influence in her life. If only I'd known at the time, I'd have been a better person for her.

I completed my degree today, 17 months to complete the 14 units I needed. Final GPA of 4.0
When I start looking for a new job, it will be nice to be able to complete all the boxes on the application forms. I am wondering what I will do with all my spare time now.
