A guest coming into the hotel called yesterday and wanted to know where the big old synagogue was because she wanted to pray there. I asked if she meant Mickve Israel and she said yes. then she said you pronounced that very well, are you from Israel? I said no , I'm a schiksa,

My wife wanted to see Savanna so we stayed over while visiting relatives in SC. I have just got in from my weekly visit to the pub , where , eavesdropping as usual, I overheard the following coversation:
A-" Hmm! On the whole, I think I prefer the Steve Miller Band to Ed Milliband."
B-"Abracadabra!"
A-"Yes, Red Ed isn't much of a magician, given that he needs a miracle, is he?"
Not wishing to show that I'd been eavesdropping, I went a peculiar shade of purply red trying to withhold my laughter. Usually in the pub I go to, what you hear is boring drivel about jobs or football, easy to ignore....
