If you see my son give him a hug for me. He tends to hang around the Tate Modern area whenever he gets the chance.

I miss him

I like this webcam too, particularly because it has sound. If you log in at the right time you can hear the dawn chorus.

You bet. I was thinking of taking my son to the Tate Modern by boat. How should I identify myself - hold up a picture of a big old motorbike?

Last time we were there we went by boat, from one Tate to the other. It was fun, I'm sure your son will enjoy

What he really liked was the high speed boat that you can take out to the Thames barrier and back, to the sound of James Bond music.

That was cold in December.

This is my one big annual luxury. I spend the rest of the year doing wonders with beans and pasta and second-hand clothing to make it all possible. But I'm not prepared to do without it if there's any way I can make it, and I want my son to have it too.

Quite right too. Do us a favour though, this time, nip up 41, put a bag over my head and force me on to the plane as well ...

Thanks LiW. I'm going to be a nurse at the end of all this. An old (I'll be 51, nearly 52 when I graduate), tired nurse. One of the junior doctors here told me I should go into geriatrics so when I get tired on shift I can sit down and nobody will be able to tell whether I'm a patient or working.

I'm all for reinventing oneself. There's nothing that says that your twenties are the only time when you can do stuff like this. More power to you.
