Seeing the Queen in Perth - brilliant atmosphere today, here is a photo - not the best quality as I had to stand on tiptoes to get it but I am still pleased with it.

That's an excellent photo PP! I am so jealous I could spit! I really wanted to go but my OH and daughter were sort of meh about the whole thing and I didn't want to go alone, so we took the dogs to the beach instead. I did get to see them do their walk around the BBQ on TV, though. They both looked as if they really enjoyed themselved and I noticed Phil went back to talk to the same young blonde woman twice.

Just seen some footage on Youtube, they both seemed to enjoy themselves. I am so chuffed to get that photo Dorothy, seriously pleased with it. I love our Royal Family

I love the fact that they have finally moved into the 21st century and that now the first born will became the next monarch, starting with William and Kate, their first born will be monarch.

Always preferable to a dead cast I've found.

Watching IP Jr. getting a trophy for Best Costume at the 'Scare on the Square', after his mom went all out making a Charlie Chaplin "Tramp" costume.

Perhaps not so odd: The well dressed 30 something mom asking "...who is he supposed to be?" When Mrs. IP told him, she had to ask who CC was. "Oh, a comedian? I've never heard of him I guess"

The poxy thing decided this was the right temperature for the heated seats to stay on!

My bum was not so gently pot-roasted.

I always cook when she comes here (just not a Thanksgiving-like spread) and when I go to her house (and she expects it to be that way....I could a lot of the family meals in high school, too). If I don't cook at her house we eat out.

Odd thing is, my Italian-American stepdad is a professionally-trained sous chef but hardly ever cooks anything but slow cooker meals and red sauce/pasta (and he's retired).
Non-thanksgiving-type food sounds good to me. I'm so apathetic about thanksgiving anyway, that I'm seriously looking for an excuse to go into work that day.

Your stepdad sounds like the stereotypical builder, that never wants to do anything to their own house, or the plumber that has the dripping tap.
