Spent a nice day yesterday in Columbus visiting the kiddy poos. They are once again roomies and have a really nice updated house apt. on a well-kept and quiet street but still close to all the "happenings." Son is back with his girlfriend and happy as a pig in s*it. Daughter is thrilled with her work situation while she spends the year studying for the GRE and saving. All quiet on the campus front

It will be interesting to see how the girls look as they mature, now they're just little monkeys.
With a name like Jones, the dark hair and pale skin could be from her Welsh heritage.

If I'd said black Welsh, someone might think coal mines.

Her mother's side IS Irish.

She, like me has a bit of Native American, but I'm nowhere near as fair complected.

Somebody (American) asked me what 'black Irish' meant, I didn't know either and was thinking Phil Lynott...so it means fair with black hair?

Yes-one theory is the Spanish influx after the Armada fiasco.

Indeed. One half on my family are from black Irish (dad's side). They all have black curly hair, brown eyes and a sort of mixture of pale and tanned skin (if that makes any sense ).

Well, whatever she is (my grandmother always called it a Heinz 57 variety...lol) she certainly is gorgeous and so is your granddaughter.

My great-grandma on my dad's side and my grandma on my mom's side were both Jones. One was dark complexion (Charlene) and one was fair (Rose).

A day of bargains

Went to the Picasso exhibit in SF, we are members of the museum so that saved us $75. Had lunch there, and looked at the receipt when I got home and we weren't charged for our alcoholic drinks that the cashier poured. Called on the way home at REI for some hiking shoes for the kid and got a pair of Merrells for $11, now trying to book a hotel in wine country as a Christmas pressie for the in-laws who will be visiting and getting some great rates.

Can anyone recommend Sonoma or Santa Rosa as a better place to stay?

From my facebook page.

A young woman was pulled over for speeding. A Texas State Trooper walked up to her car window, flipping open his ticket book. She said, "I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the State Troopers Ball". He replied, "Texas State Troopers don't have balls". There was a moment of silence. Then he closed his book, tipped his hat, got back in his patrol car, and left

I'm also a member of another forum and I was watching a thread with interest as it started getting into a bitch fight when I had a big LOL moment with the following reply:

WOW, what'ya gonna do, CAPS LOCK my arse..

Loved it!
