Given that we are in Illinois, they were most likely bald eagles. Spectacular birds.
Typical Illinois! Even the birds have their feathers stolen!

They aren't really bald at all. They just have white feathers on their head so they look bald from a distance as compared to their dark bodies.

You mean we've been conned all these years.

What else have we been misled about? Woodpeckers don't peck wood? The Praying Mantis is not really speaking to god?

Not only that, the banana slug isn't actually a banana.

And Crawfish aren't really fish.

They are a disgusting mud-bug that people boil in a bowl and go crazy over this time of the year

You don't even want to think too closely about crabs and lobsters, tbh.

The dog ate it.

Or at least had a good chew on it.

Sally.

Well, sort of a smile. In a way.

Rental agents describing a space the size of a medium cupboard as a "bedroom".

Apparently everyone in the UK is 4' 6" tall and owns zero stuff.

It induces a sort of panic. No built-in wardrobes or linen cupboards, no room for free-standing - "where the hell am I supposed to put my stuff?!"

For flats and terraced houses, I generally found that the bedrooms in older Council-built ones were a bit bigger than new builds. I've seen new developments where what will fit in the 3 bedrooms goes like this - main bedroom, a small double bed and a skinny wardrobe, second bedroom, a single bed and a skinny cupboard, third bedroom, a baby's crib as long as it's not a big baby.

The OH is 6' 4" and not skinny. I'm not sharing a small double with him Also, his feet would hang off the end.

And then there's the whole fridge in the living room thing due to the kitchen being a small passageway rather than an actual room. I mean, I don't need a mansion but...
