I never even mentioned him, you know me to well

I always saw him as folk or Americana though.

I never know if I'm doing it right though, because I tend to put the stuff I like into Folk or Americana, and the rhinestony stuff that I don't like into Country.

I do the same with Willie Nelson.

Willie Nelson smokes dope with Snoop, he transcends everything.

I was really more talking about Glenn Campbell though. His singles can be a bit cheesy, MOR stuff but he is a seriously good lead guitarist, which I didn't realize until recently.

He was a great guitarist (I say as an amateur) and a Muscle Shoals guy.

Sadly, he turned out to also be a right wing bastard.

Willie will smoke dope with anyone and anything.

Wrecking Crew, I think.

Didn't know about the other stuff though, but that could have been the dementia ...

He was.

It was pre-dementia, going back to support for the Vietnam War, although by today's standards he would probably be classed as a free thinker.

Likewise. He turned out to be the only rapper I would listen to. His lyrics were great, and I am all about the lyrics.

Yep. Same for Snoop, Dr Dre, etc for me. I know that's my 90s bias but it's really good stuff when you get unti it.

I have - or did have, not sure now - an Osmonds single, one from The Bay City Rollers, another from Cliff and maybe a couple of other "embarrassments" because they were exceptions.

There are no guilty pleasures, just enjoy what you enjoy

Now I love Billy Joel, he's a national treasure for his dedication to touring his hits, but I could never say he writes better lyrics than Bob Dylan or John Lennon.

It's one of those in hindsight things.
The Bay City Rollers one I got (in my defence, cheap in a newsagent) was "Money Honey" which compared to their usual output was Heavy. Still crap though.

Well there is that too, of course.
