It's right though. Those Sunday afternoons radio listening were wonderful.

The only one I could not stand was the Clitheroe Kid.

I remember Dessert Island Disc (the original). Was that Sunday or Saturday?

We weren't allowed The Clitheroe Kid in our house so I couldn't make up my own mind As soon as it was announced it was given the Order of the Click.

I was allowed to stay up as a youngster to listen to Paul Temple, which I found pretty scary. I can still hear the theme tune now …...

I loved Alistair Cooke's 'Letter from America' Just to hear those mellow tones winging their way across the water, ahhhhh . He made you feel that the world was ok. Odd to think that his old home town of Salford is now where the BBC resides.

Cross-fertilization from "What has p*ssed you off today"....................... my appointment letter and Klean-Prep arrived today.

That might not appear to be something to make you smile ...... but this time there are only 3 sachets, not 4, that means only 3 litres of liquid torture

A 25% reduction in Purgatory (definitely something to do with "purge" anyway...)

Took possession of six beautiful chickens today. No photos yet as I had to get them in the run and rush out again. I love chickens.

There was one broadcast that stuck in mind, he interviewed Quentin Crisp , they went back to Crisp apartment in NY & on walking thru the door Cooke said the Crisp
"dear me Quentin ,this flat is not exactly clean" to which Crisp replied " my dear Alistair , after the first quarter off a inch ,it really does not get any worse"

Probably best to keep them away from the cats though.

It works out perfectly to one chicken per cat.
