What made you smile today? Part III

So I don't really believe in Mothers Day. I'm pretty sure it was invented by Hallmark cards. But the Little Lion bought me a bunch of flowers with his hard-earned cash today. He's a sweety.

Very sweet!
Just pretend it is a later in the year version of Mothering Sunday which was not started by Hallmark.

Mothering Sunday has sod all to do with mothers. Most definitely a Hallmark holiday. Stupid idea. Don't tell my kids when to treat me, they do very nicely whenever they think about it throughout the year. Grumble over.

It may very well be a Hallmark holiday...but I had a lovely weekend with my daughter, granddaughter and hubby.

I had a lovely phone conversation with my Oz based daughter and one of my sons, which after all those years of no contact with them was very heart warming. They told me that they've given one of my 3 sisters who are visiting me next week pressies and cards for me, but just the phone chat was all I needed and more.

Praia Verde beach looking like a travel brochure.... Sand cleaned; sparkling water the colour of deepest azure; new beach covers & facilities plus; warm sunshine; few tourists. (esp Brits!!!) ....Ahhhhhh....
.. Monte Gordo beach prom though.... What a mess!; - Free parking gone; building site for new improvement prom/beach works, imo, well behind schedule & of course the stores obviously suffering loss of trade... Some one/group are going to get their bottom/s kicked fairly-intensely if it's not ready in time....

Until I cracked a few months ago and 'phoned him, backed by an email. He was supposed to get straight back with some recent 'photos.
Nada.

Should have put this in the 'other' thread...

I can understand and appreciate how that must feel. I have very little contact with my son and family back in the UK - there has not been any kind of falling out, it's just that he never initiates contact, and I became fed-up with always being the one to get in touch again. So I stopped.

Sorry about that. Something to do with the youngsters being negligent ?
I have the same with my ''steph''family (including my late husband's 2 sons). Gave up on them now and slowly but surely consuming their inheritance. C'est la vie as well
