“As he extended his hand,” Comey adds, “I made a mental note to check its size. It was smaller than mine, but did not seem unusually so."

She's doing really well, currently 4th with two events to go. I'm super proud vicariously . Seem to remember changing her nappy when she was about 4 days old but that could be her younger sister. Changed a lot of nappies over the years

BBC analysis seems to suggest she should get 3rd, she has a much better record in the final event than the athlete ahead of her, so as long as she gives her best she might well get onto the podium.

That would be fantastic for her. Was messaging her mum earlier and she is rightly super-proud.

And she did it, Bronze medal in the heptathlon. you and he parents must be so proud. Just watched a recording, she absolutely destroyed the others in her heat after 400 meters, just ran away from the field and was over 5 seconds ahead at the finish.

Her Mum and family, my former colleagues at Derby Royal Hospital and me are all jolly proud and excited. It couldn't happen to a nicer family. Sure there'll be a few bottles of champers opened on the GC tonight

Comey's something like 6'8. Everything's going to seem smaller to him.

Hear that, Donnie, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g

Oh that's fantastic!

We got all excited over one of the young swimmers winning a bronze, because he went to the same High School as youngestDreamy.

I can only imagine that your excitement was exponentially greater than that

Commonwealth Games Road Races were going passed our road so we went along to watch. Everyone roadside were having a blast, cheering everyone. An Isle of Man cyclist had the gear thing break on his bike and all the support cars were up ahead so some local guy who'd ridden down to watch lent him his bike. We stayed to watch him come round again so the bike he was using was obviously good enough. Brilliant.

My husband braving the weather this morning to go out and buy all the food and supplies we need this weekend so that I don't have to go out.
The fact he's currently cooking breakfast and had a cup.of tea waiting for me when I got up.
These might seem like little things but I'm feeling like crap and this reminds me of how lucky I am
We just celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary

Sounds like a good 'un, I'd hang on to him for a few more years. Hope the black dog pisses off sooner rather than later.
