I have a withering look reserved specifically for other airplane passengers.

I know. It is an amazing age. I love him a little too much.

At the moment he has rather soft poops which is not comfy for either of us so I am trying to work out how to sort that out.

He's diabetic now which I have to say I rather blame on the wretched prescription dry renal diet that was suggested. It is far too high in carbs and too low in quality protein for any cat. Keeping the diabetes regulated is not hard though especially once you bin all that dry crap.
He has stage II CKD but many many cats 12 yrs plus have this. Just be mindful of phos levels in any food and ensure good protein otherwise muscle wastage.

Anyway. He is still purring, going for his walks on his now wobbly legs. He enjoys his food. He's having a cat's life , just a bit slower and more considered. The days of him flying out of windows and being a fast sprinter through the paddock next door are long gone. He's still alert though & knows his own mind.

Did I say I loves him.
I really do.

Sorry to hear he's having issues with his health but it looks like he's still doing as well as can be expected for a 19 year old cat (apparently that's 92 in cat years - found it online, make of it what you will).

Here's to many more

How is it possible to love him too much?

The fact that the Little Lion does not need knee surgery.

He is on the wrestling team at his school, and injured it in what was almost certainly the last competitive match he will ever wrestle since it's the end of the season and he is in his last year of school. Coming down hard on one knee with 200lbs+ of another guy on top of you is never good. We were worried about meniscus and/or tendon injury from his symptoms, but the mri shows that all is well within the actual interior knee joint, he just has a lot of buising, swelling, fluid accumulatin, micro tears, etc in the muscle and general fleshy parts outside the knee. Nothing that rest and a bit of rehab won't fix. Relief all round.

This is NOT the Little Lion or his school - privacy, etc. - but this is the weight he wrestles at so it looks like this. Glad that's over.

My neighbour explaining her husband's policy of not picking up the phone to unknown callers.

Not only does he not pick up, he writes down the number and currently has a collection of around 50 which sits by the phone

I managed, just in time, to stop myself from asking what the point was. It might have involved a recital of the list and the date and time of each call.

For elimination purposes. Eventually he will have a list of numbers belonging to all of the people he doesn't know.

The ones that are left are safe to be answered.

I can't remember the last time I answered our landline phone for any call other than a prescription verification from Walgreens. It's 99.99% spam, all day, all the time. Never mind the fact that all of our phone numbers have been on the Do Not Call Register since 2010

We'd get rid of the landline in a heartbeat (the only reason we had it in the first place was for the special call rates to the UK, but now we just skype/arsebook messenger call back home on wifi), but I think it would actually end up costing us more to dump it because we're on a bundle.

The by-line on the Reuters webpage is:
Brazil police ordered to take over security in violent Rio de Janeiro.
Take a look at that police dog!

Never answer our landline. I don't even know what the number is. Ditto on it being more expensive to get rid of it.

We haven't looked into it in much detail though, maybe we can save a few bucks redoing our package or something. My wife (since she runs the household ) handles all that stuff anyway.

We had Vonage for several years which cost $30/month with unlimited calls to UK landlines. I dumped them when I calculated (for the amount we used it) it was cheaper to pay for AT&T's international plan.

When I moved to my current job where they provided me a cell phone, we dropped AT&T and put my wife on Straight Talk for $45/mo unlimited everything. We buy an add-on international card for $10 which equates to 1000 minutes to UK which usually lasts us several months.

I call my mother every couple of weeks with occasional calls to others in UK.

Keep in touch mostly on Farsebook.
