We got an "ice dam" on the flat roof of our building/gutter/downspout with the result that all the melt generated by the warm building under said 18" of snow could not drain off - well it did drain off, but mostly into my son's bedroom. We must have caught and bailed about 30 gallons before the landlords managed to create enough gaps in the ice to dry that up. Not exaggerating.
Yeah, ready for spring.
Yeah, ready for spring.
Landlords, though. We got a call on Sunday afternoon, around the time we were getting nice and comfy in front of the TV from my father-in-law who said they hadn't been shoveled since the snow started. He's pretty sick at the moment, issues with his heart and his legs, and he can't get around much. The landlord doesn't have a contract with a plow company and I guess my wife's youngest sister who lives with him, or their upstairs neighbor for that matter, haven't seen a shovel in their lives. So yeah, that meant we had to head up with our shovels to help him out. I didn't mind that because he has to be able to get out to see his doctor, but spending 2 hours shoveling someone else's drive wasn't the way I wanted to spend my Sunday afternoon.

Hoo boy, that sounds like a right bloody mess.

Where I am landlords are legally obliged to keep sidewalks clear, but don't know about driveways in rentals. You would think that common sense and decency would prevail, maybe.
Luckily, we had two five-gallon empty paint drums, or we would have had to form a human chain with our small buckets and containers. The landlady's least helpful comment - "do you know any roof contractors?" No. No I don't. I'm not the one who owns several buildings.

But in your case, that is absolutely your landlord's responsibility. They should have a list of contractors and tradesmen that they work with regularly for things they can't take care of themselves in case emergencies like this come up.

A local radio host was taking his daughter to set up shop on the foot bridge leading to Denver University. The thought was college students/weed.
Personally, girl scout cookies annoy me somewhat. It's bloody extortion, a huge industrialized operation, and the products are mediocre.
I have having to run the gauntlet at the supermarche because Little Sally and Little Brenda are sitting outside at a table.
I know it's generally unacceptable to swear at kids, but I really want to just tell them to eff off. Humbug.

I am quite fond of those thin after dinner mints though.

I'm not sure I know what a TimTam is. Google is my friend.
Here's how I would go through my lunch box.
1. Sandwiches (peanut butter/cheese and tomato/honey/ham)
2. Carrot.
3. Penguin.
4. Crisps.
5. Apple
