What made you smile today? Part III

Little Lion is gaining brownie points!
I have a jar of sunflowers . I sat on my daughters catio (like a patio but screened in so her cat doesn't go too far) drinking coffee watching her cut the sunflowers for me with the help of my little grandaughter who was pulling the petals off. It was the perfect way to start a Sunday.

A substance has been found in human breast milk that seems to specifically target cancer cells, a possible new treatment? and I suspect that there are many people out there who want to get their daily dose the 'natural' way..

The Little Lion. Apparently it's Mother's Day here. I never paid attention to it since I think it was invented by Hallmark Cards, but the Little Lion went out and bought me these with his own money and presented them to me (the flowers, not the pictures, or random candles, etc).
He's just a big sweety.

Luckily our daughter made her about a million cards in school and daycare, and I got her a gift card because I'm nice.

That is the absolute opposite of our son. He's 18, so I'm not going to remind him anymore but he didn't even wish his mum a happy mother's day, let alone get her anything. But again, he's not 10 anymore so it isn't up to me to remind him to do something nice for his own ****ing mother.

He never did anything spontaneously before. I think he's done some growing up this year - in some respects, god knows not in others

Him indoors made me banana pancakes for breakfast.

I didn't make breakfast for my wife. I did spend 2 hours running around the shops buying shit for the week though, but I do that every weekend.

They're like cats. They're quite good at thinking about the one thing that happens to be catching their attention at that precise moment, but they can't think about other things simultaneously and they don't join ideas up very well.

Anyway, what makes me smile right now is the fact that there's only 39 days to go until holiday time

Sitting at a road side cafe,an old guy on an old tractor trundles up a dusty lane opposite. He had attached two long poles to the front of the machine..attached to those were two dog leads with a terrier on one and a whippet on the other. They seemed immensely pleased with themselves, believing they were pulling the tractor along. All three of them seated themselves in a corner and promptly fell asleep... priceless

Just staying in NI this time. Maybe if we have time heading into Ireland itself as well, likely Donegal as it's close. We had an idea ages ago about taking a few days and going to Germany, but that was when we were going to go for 2 weeks instead of 10 days. Time and money didn't quite stretch this time.
We'll get out and about around NI as much as we can though. Trying to get to some places the others haven't been before as well just to keep it interesting.

We have our car rental sorted, and we have 3 different places we are staying at. We are hoping to travel about more than we usually do as going to a family wedding means we get to see them all at the same time and don't have to visit so many different family homes

Time enough yet to sort that. We're staying with my sister, who's in our mum's old house now, so that's all taken care of. She's also got a caravan up on the Antrim coast we might spend a night or two in.
Seems like my sister is sorting out a party so we can catch up with as many people at once as we can, which will make things easier. It's always a nice, relaxing 10 days when we go there.
