What made you smile today? Part III

We have had the best day today. Up early to go to Niagara Falls then a drive out to where I grew up then we stopped for lunch at Easterbrooks https://m.facebook.com/Easterbrooks-...urce=typeahead I can remember when we used to have to go to pick up our mail there.

Watching my newly trimmed dog rush down to the swimming pool and jump in for her first refreshing swim of the year. She looks more like a golden teddy bear now than a golden retriever. She is so funny. takes her stuffed rabbit down to sit on the edge to watch(?) her.
Three yrs ago she was afraid of the water. OH taught her to swim.. a priceless spectacle.

This had me smiling. Amazingly silly stuff to my mind.

I bought a KitchenAid kettle just under a year ago. Much to the husband's annoyance it beeps a lot. A few days ago it lost its beeps so yesterday lunchtime I rang KitchenAid and told them. She said to throw it out, they'd send me a new one. Just under 24 hours later there's a knock at the door and it's a brand new kettle (being carried by a delivery guy, it didn't bring itself to my door that would be mad). Very impressed.

She's gorgeous C.

A little while ago the roads round here got names and yesterday we got our house number.
We're at the beginning of a cul-de-sac of four properties, so we're number 21. Next door is 31 and then it's 99 and 109. We're numbered according to the distance in metres from the beginning of the road to the gatepost.
Now isn't that a sensible and logical way to allocate them. Works for me (now I know), anyway

Mind you, any system which actually facilitates post being delivered to your property is good. Most of the countries I've lived in haven't managed that, which correlates directly with their general shittiness.

Just feeling good about going shopping here, technology hasn't taken too much hold in many of the local shops, like the bakers, butchers etc, so have to use cash, but it's great to be able to go into a butchers and get 4 sausages, a couple of chops, and not have to accept what the supermarket decides you will have, there were no butchers or local bakers in the part of Bournemouth where we lived, it was prepackaged or nothing. buying a single cream cake, being able to buy 'real' pork scratchings, not that packaged rubbish. No problems getting the cash either with 4 cash points within a few yards. So every morning, out to get fresh bread and vegetables, no need to worry about storing them.
