Today was my father's birthday. I came across this while looking through some old pics.

After everything I read just then, I'm mainly caught on the anti freckle treatment. How the hell does that work and what's wrong with having a freckle down there anyway? Ffs there are some strange people out there

I'm sure we never used to think about how it looked - very strange.

About 1949. My mother would have been about 17 and father about 21.

Got a new Smart TV today....but it also pisses me off that so far it's smarter than me. I suppose I will figure everything out in, oh, I don't know, maybe a year.

The exaggerated grimace of pain as my 12yo slid onto his bike saddle to ride to school today.....

We rode the MS150 from Houston to Austin this weekend, 150 miles on a bike, raising funds for the MSsociety. It was his first time, and he did well, but is feeling it a bit this morning....I suspect there may be some serious fidgeting and "readjusting" going on in class today. Hopefully he will be uncomfortable enough that it will help him to stay awake!

My girls spent their entire school lives complaining that I never gave them random days off (unlike ALL their friends, obviously ). If they could get out of bed and walk to the kitchen, they could go to school.

Walk? That's a pretty easy threshold....we have "drag yourself to the kitchen without leaving a blood trail"

My mum was a teacher at one of the schools I went to. No days off ever. On one occasion I puked copiously in class, and got bundled off to the school nurse for the rest of the day, but that was as far as it went.
