Hearing The Fox and Old Dan Tucker sung tonight, hadn't heard those for years and years and pleased because I still remembered the words.

5.8 shaker here today. Living on the first floor now, so no swaying like on the 11th floor. Actually, that fact made it somewhat boring. I never minded the gentle and occasionally not so gentle swaying. I always just sat there and kept watching tv.

This morning someone sang a song near my place... It was a romantic song, so my guess is this was a serenade. Guy had a nice voice, so his singing made me smile

My husbands work is doing a Christmas thing where local kids in care have named a gift they would like for Christmas, and you choose a card and buy the gift.

Our daughter is 11, so hubby chose an 11 year old girl, and we gave the card to our daughter and asked her to chose the gift. We thought it would be a good exercise in reminding her just how fortunate she is. Bless her, within 2 minutes of telling her about it, she was sat with tears rolling down her face, saying it's just so sad. Made me smile (but also shed a tear too) to know she does care and realize that some kids aren't as fortunate as she is. She then spent the next hour searching for the best gift.
