What made you smile today? Part III

The little girl (about 4) who asked if she could pet our dog, her parents were already getting in the car, we said yes you can, expecting a gingerly executed pat on the head, she flung her arms around him, got on her knees so she was face to face to him and held his face then hugged him again, said thank you and went on her way. You could just tell she REALLY wanted to take this real life teddy bear home
I was a little concerned because Henry doesn't see to many little ones but he took it all in his stride.

This more accurately made me laugh my arse off.
In what will surely go down in history as one the greatest architectural blunders, the town of Benidorm in Alicante, Spain, had almost completed its 47-story skyscraper when it realized it excluded plans for elevator shafts.
The initial backer of the project, Caixa Galicia, stopped paying workers for four months around the time it realized — after about 23 floors had been completed — that a service elevator hadn't been installed for the 41 workers who had been hauling materials up 23 flights of stairs.

I can imagine an entire list of people who will need to seek a new career. Perhaps as carnival ride attendants.

How often are people able to be naked outside in Birmingham anyway??????

Well, Great Uncle Bulgaria, but yep! The only difference was the Bulgarians didn't pick up litter, they just chucked out the nearest window. Sofia back then was a grey, dirty polluted dump whereas now, well, ummm....

What made me smile (last night, but I couldn't post cos we didn't have any power and we're in a mobile black hole so I can't even access the Internet on that if the power is off, oh my god, the withdrawal symptoms were bad) was playing Charades in the middle of a power cut (thank you, gale force winds and dodgy trees combined with above ground power cables) with the family.
In the dark.
Well, not technically in the dark, I was prepared for any eventuality with my candle pack - one 'real' candle and three scented candles from the bathroom.
Couldn't see anything but the room smelled nice.
We laughed and laughed until 8.10pm when I decided it was bedtime. I believe the electricity came back on about 9pm but I was sound asleep by then (I know how to party, baby) (That may also have been because I had to have wine, pretty much the only beverage not in the fridge)

Went to pick up Indi from the cat kennels. Found out she'd not allowed the owners to even stroke her all week but as soon as she saw me, she sat up, meowed loud enough to wake the neighbours and honest to god looked so happy to see me, it was awesome.
We're convinced the meow was as close to Mummmmmmmm you're back! as a cat can get.
