Over 2,500 views, yet very few voice files. Perhaps its because we don't really know what to say? So I though maybe if we had something to say we would feel less conscious about talking in to our shiny computer screens. I decided to read a poem that has meaning to me, for those of you who visited my web site you'll know why.
Attached is the poem, and for those that don't speak Lancashire-cum-Texan, a translation is below. I hope you'll join me in sharing your poems, rants, jokes or babbling.
Philip Larkin - This Be The Verse
They **** you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were ****ed up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don't have any kids yourself.
--
My apologies for the background noise, my dog was enjoying her rawhide and I didn't have the heart to disturb her.

Please don't hold it against me! (Will it help if I say I've been on the grog?)
