They don't charge you half the price for the same turd - it's a different turd. All together (visions of that scene from 'Airplane' drifting through my frontal lobes!!!)

I do know enough about turds - I used to build a few myself - even made a living out of it 20 years ago - and for some applications you absolutely can end up with a way better turd - with incredible performance especially in the graphic (turd) dept.

For the average, every day run of the mill turd requirements, I'm happy that I don't have to get my finger nails dirtied by polishing a turd and sticking missing bits together that should have been whole and polished before I ever got my (sticky) hands on it...

Firstly this is not a Mac v. PC thread. Start another thread and knock yourselves out (please).
Secondly, it's my fukking money, I will spend it on whatever the fukk I want. Don't tell people they are stupid for buying something. It isn't your money so bugger off.

I'm surprised how many people on here appear to be anti-apple products. I was in Starbucks yesterday afternoon when someone came in and said Steve Jobs had died. I looked around, there were 13 people sat at tables, 10 had laptops 9 of which were Apple, I could see 7 phones all of which were iphones and thats not an usual situation.

Since Jobs last stint at the company, the question is not PC vs Mac but walled garden vs public park.

People choose not to buy Apple products like some people choose to pay a fair price for their coffee or choose not to walk around in sneakers made from child slave labor.

I know plenty who use PC....and they've not had problems getting a job, it's all essentially the same, except a few shortcuts...it wouldn't make a difference to the quality of the artist.

Just as many failures getting in on the act though, so nothing different there, except for the lucky few and early adapters, pretty much the same as usual...only difference is not having huge start up costs on dev kits and having the barrier to entry at the end of development instead of at the beginning of development.

The fact that the Darlings have set up their own iPhone studio is probably a sign that things are about to crash too

That's got to be the luck of the draw though, because the folks are big Mac faithfuls, but the hardware as well as the software is constantly up the shitter.

At the end of the day, like most things, it's user error rather than a PC or Mac being shit...that and dodgy Q/C.

We've never had issues with our computers (Macs) hardware or software.

Boy they really are making a big deal out of this today. I know he was quite the innovator but would'nt have someone else developed all this stuff if he hadn't? They showed a college commencement speech he made in 05 where he shared all the secrets to success. Just like Oprah he had all the answers. Do what you love, and love what you do and you too can be a billionaire..

Oh if life were really that simple.
