I've stopped commenting on the missing children ones. My wife got upset that I'd every one out then reply to them pointing out that the missing child has been found alive/dead in XXXX year. It also pissed off a few of the people posting them, and got me unfriended I think. Or they stopped posting crap.

Hear hear. Excellent posts as always.

I have one "friend" on there that falls for every single thing out there, no matter how ridiculous or improbable.

You see this is why I never put anything positive and praiseworthy about my family online ever. I stuck specifically to why it all went wrong and why at least one of my kids needs a muzzle.

I don't let my son on FB.
But wouldn't it be so much more fun to allow him to be on FB but insist he is friends with you. You can then write mushy things on his wall to embarrass him in front of his friends.

And is it just me or is their a high correlation between the people who post "I love you darling, have a great day xxxooo" on their spouse's wall, to them getting divorced?

I couldn't do that, even in jest

If I want to embarrass him, I wait until he's on chat with his gaming friends and sing 'Dick in a Box' off SNL. Or just drop ass and wait for him to vomit.

You know, the old fashioned way

Yes.

It's the whole keeping up with the Joneses thing gone nuts. "Oh look my marriage/family/children/whatever is better than yours".

Is it bollocks

Hands up....but who's been painting? And lets have a look

And speaking of, the littlest one has done just that on the kitchen table a couple days ago...luckily it's got an enamelled top and the marker wiped off easily enough...so she's been trying her luck with the crayons.

Crayons are satans little joke on the world of parents.

It does bug me how people allow their young kids to have Facebook accounts, I know of at least 5 kids my daughters age (10) who have accounts. I can't imagine what their parents are thinking of.

I do actually really like Facebook and use it a lot, I love being able to keep up with friends and family and see their pictures easily. I also do the check-ins (sorry) but you often get 10-25% off something for the place you are by checking in. Our local wine bar for instance offers 25% off a glass of wine when you check in, a local restaurant gives free dessert, and when we were in Napa most wineries offered free tastings for a Facebook check-in.

Maybe I'm just unsociable...but I couldn't give a rat's ass about viewing other people's photos...or reading about how outstanding Little Johnny is at school etc.
