So I was very late making Christmas cakes this year and decided I would soak the fruit overnight with more brandy than I usually do just to keep the good flavour going...my kitchen smelt like a brewery all day Sunday

A daughter made christmas puddings. Only problem was she forgot to turn the gas down on the second one once it was boiling. I got home to the worse smell ever. It could only have boiled dry about 20 minutes earlier but it was a charcoal pud when we managed to get it out of the basin. Good job she made two.

Lemon Pound Cake Recipe : Food Network

Made that in a bundt pan and it was lovely...Not quite a birthday cake, but the birthday girl wanted a banoffee pie and as I'm allergic to bananas and no one else likes them, so can't say how that one turned out but the littlest one seems to like it.

Allergic? What kind of reaction do you have?

As a banana addict I'm kinda interested. I can't imagine not eating a banana, I have one every day.

I have two many days! They're the cheapest & healthiest "sweet" I allow myself.

But I've known friends who can't bear them. One would get a stomach ache if she ate anything with even a bit of banana in it. And the Husband isn't fond of them. He can't handle more than a half banana sliced into his breakfast cereal.

Finally! Banana is my choice for breakfast. And I also often eat another one as a snack. It is a healthy and satisfying indugence, unless I add it to a great big bowl of ice cream

Yuk, not a nice a nice reaction

But your wonderful description of my favorite fruit does nothing to deter me. I lurve bananas.

A toasted banana and jam sandwich is my choice of comfort food if I'm sick or upset.
A bowl of custard with banana sliced in it.
Banana, oatmeal and cranberry cookies..yum!
Banana bread
Banana Split.....
Banana dipped into melted chocolate and then frozen...amazing

Yep I love 'em

Two things the public should never see being made are law and sausages, and I love making sausage as well as eating it, but this is hot Italian sausage from the store. If I'm cooking a few to take for lunches or picnic and eat cold later sometimes I braise them then give each side some slashes about 1" apart, drain the grease then simmer in wine.
