Nobby Stiles, one of England's 1966 World Cup Heros at the age of 78 after a long illness. Very new news so not a lot of other details known yet.

Sad news - 78 isn't really that old nowadays. I think he had dementia for a while.

Very sorry to read this. His daughter and I were in sixth form together, but she kept the relationship quiet, though not secret. I knew he was a bit older than my parents.
