Sir Harold Evans, 92
I had forgotten he was that much older than Tina Brown. He was one of the good guys.

Yes he was. His investigative journalism on Thalidomide really helped bring it out into the open and helped so many families.

And he told Murdoch where to go!

Loved to listen to her. I watched a documentary about her a while ago. She seemed so down to earth and normal! So sad she had dementia.

Mac Davis, 78. The writer of some great songs -- including Elvis's "In the Ghetto" and "A Little Less Conversation" -- and a top performer in his own right. He also had a TV variety show and acted in a few movies, including my all-time favorite sports movie, North Dallas Forty.

Mac Davis Dead at 78

Watching Z cars I decided I wanted to be part of the crew of a uniformed area crime patrol car. I was for the best 10 years of my service. I owe a great deal to Messrs Barlow, Watt, Weir, Lynch, Smith and Steele.

So Dixon of Dock Green didn't influence your career?

Evening all..
