No sweat. I watched Midnight Express again last night. It does show it's age, but given that it's set 50 years ago, it's still a great film.

Not sure when I last saw it but I do remember my first time and it was astonishingly a double bill with Taxi Driver.

It's a very good film. We went to see it when it first came out and the husband has refused to set foot in Turkey ever since.

A guy told me the other day that if there is a vaccine, he won't take it and they can't make him. I said "GOOD" and I really meant it.

Yeah, good on him. No one's going to take away his human right to get covid-19.

Former Northern Ireland politician and Nobel Prize winner John Hume passed away age 83. A good man. RIP John.

A great advocate of civil rights and opponent of the toxic tribalism of politics in NI. Criticised by Unionists for his nationalism and Republicans for his pacifism, he played a huge role in supporting the change in republican activities and worked tirelessly towards an end to the troubles that had dogged his entire career. He headed a party that reflected a less aggressive form of nationalism - a party that has seen its influence diminish in the polarized atmosphere of post-GFA politics, but whose influence is still felt.

The dementia which fist manifested itself in the late 1990s led to his complete withdrawal from politics in 2004. Unfortunately, by 2018, this had progressed to a stage where he no longer remembered the role he had played in bringing peace to his community.
