I was surprised at scouse's reaction. He knew Derek Johnson, they played football together and went to the same school. He wasn't a fan at all, quite the opposite. But he was a bit upset when I told him, I guess that happens when your peers start to pop their clogs.

Derek Fowlds, played Bernard Wolley in 'Yes Minister' and 'Yes Prime Minister' has died at the age of 82. Also 'Mr Derek' with Basil Brush and played Oscar Blaketon in 'Heartbeat' for 18 years.

I'm desperately sad to hear this. I loved "Mr Derek" on BB, and he was just fabulous in the "Yes Minister" etc. series.
