The Puppy Dog Thread.

I saw there was a cat one, so why not a dog one!

Let's post pics of our pups/dogs, and share info, stories and updates about them!

I'll get mine up in due course.

Here is our puppy - Dani! She's almost 11 months old now. She's and English Pointer and Blue Heeler crossbreed so is high energy and intelligent.

We have had her since a few days after I got over here, so just over a month. We got her from a dog shelter, can't believe she was up for adoption! In that time she has come along so quickly. She went from not being toilet trained at all to being to tell us she needs to go toilet. She's learned sit, lie down and paw. She has also learnt bedtime and goes straight into her cage for that. She's currently learning recall and staying, but she's picking these up quick! She also hated her cage at first and we had to coerce her in as she associated it with being locked up all the time and punishment etc, but now she only associates it with bedtime and when we go out without her, so she sees it as her own personal space now :)

The first pic is her at the dog park - her favourite thing ever. She is so friendly and playful and loves socialising with other dogs. Second pic is her watching Netflix on the laptop with me. Final pic is on one of our walks, she's highly prey driven and she now sits or points when she spots squirrels etc instead of pulling on the lead.

Dani looks like a lovely canine friend...she deserves a good, loving home.

Ellie was 3 last month. She is a cross Pom/Chi...she was 8 months old when we got her. No-one wanted her because she has a misshapen mouth.

She is very adorable, well-tempered and not caused a single issue for us or anyone she has ever met!

Our biggest concern with her is her absolute FEAR of water. We discovered this when I was walking her along the beachfront up Michigan, and tried to paddle in the shallow waters with her, but she whined very badly, her demeanour changed from friendly and happy to scared and timid, and she was pulling away so fearfully from the water! I instantly picked her up and left the beach with her and soothed her and reassured her.

Upon speaking to our vet, he believes she has probably been subject to torture/abuse by water before she ended up at the rescue.

Does anyone know if you can reintroduce/train a dog to like water or to learn that it is safe? She trusts me more out of my girlfriend and I, so it's something I'd like to work on with her, using our bond and lots of treats if possible!

My canine lovelies!

Solo:

They're litter siblings, both much greyer in the muzzle now, and 7 years old. (Don't tell anyone, but Solo is my favourite, even though we make truck reversing noises when he's backing up, cos he has a giant arse)

Don't know what the deal is with that, but if you get stuck I can host a couple and post them up for you.
