They changed the day after Romney announced Ryan. Not by much, but they changed. One assumes that they were doing polling today. I do agree, though, that the next few days will tell.

Nah. I just want to sit down with a bunch of Tea Party folks with the words of Thomas Paine and have them actually read them until they realize that what they are ignorantly espousing is a wonderful model of socialism that they clearly have no idea about.

Surely tithing to the church is also a form of socialism.

I was completely baffled when Glen Beck went on a Paine love-fest; I even had to look up Paine as I assumed that there must have been another one.

It is beyond mental that almost every rally includes a Paine quote that is - in context - the very antithesis of what they believe.

It's not that mental, when you realise that they don't actually have a fcking clue what they really believe. The whole movement is a mass of contradictions, but seems boil down to: "less benefits for other people, but not for me because I've earned them."

That is the obligation of every American, and the basis of the Second Amendment. Of course, getting away with it isn't spoken about.

"A fish don't get caught if it keeps its mouth shut..."

In the first debate, Romney did not keep his mouth shut...

Some of those statements will have caused concern for some on the right of the GOP...

Obama took a lot of heat for the debate but has had 2 fairly sizable breaks in the past few days.

1) There is increasing evidence that Romney is tanking among Hispanics - according to CNN Obama is in at 70%. That could be critical in Florida where Obama leads 61-31 among Latin Americans who are 'highly enthusiastic' about voting.

2) Unemployment figures show the U.S rate has dropped by 0.3 to 7.8% and stocks are rising modestly. That sets an upbeat tone which will work against Romney (the actual numbers in work will be higher since the unemployment figures are adjusted to not include the holiday hiring spike)

Have to wait and see what the next Ohio polls say...
