The GF wanted to see this one and I thought it was going to be another lame, American cheese ball movie. I was wrong. Had a decent twist and ending.

A pretty good movie overall

8/10
Agreed. A tad self-indulgent, but even so kept the entire family entertained.

Ca$h (French film, with subtitles on BBC iPlayer)

Excellent crime / heist caper, with some familiar (French) faces. Well acted, well scripted and with sufficient twists to keep you guessing till the end. Also features the sexiest (female) cop you're ever likely to see.

Idris in Luther was great but this movie was slow and predictable, especially after watching Gone Girl.

Gone Girl let the cat out the bag too early which in turn made it incredibly predictable personally I think it would have been better cinematography and story telling to drop the subtitle that said how many days in each scene was and run her side and his separately and tie them in at the end as everything she did could of compressed into 15 minutes as the penultimate act instead of half way through a long predictable film.

The Guvnors (2014) - IMDb

The Guvnors

Cheesy, London gang themed movie without much in the way of twists and turns. Quite violent in places and if you're into the genre, worth a punt other wise, not.

Weren't a badly paced movie with quite a lot of recognisable faces from various Brit shows and movies.

Almost downloaded and watched that one.

Picked The Drop instead. James Gandolfini last movie. A pretty good watch.

Into the Woods

The kids loved this movie. For a musical, it wasn't entirely shit either, though I slept through chunks of it. I thought the local high school performance was better.

Just seemed to drag on a bit. Some fun scenery and the fact they didn't show any of the violence made it work for the younger audience though.

6/10

Sex Tape

Surprisingly not entirely shit, either. Was really slow and boring for the first bit, until once they made the tape and realised it had gone out into the cloud, then it got amusing and quite funny in places.

5/10

Guardians of the Galaxy

Again, another movie that wasn't entirely shit and had some pretty fun action sequences, though the CGI was a bit flat in places but I think the big screen would have helped. Some fun characters and pretty funny in places and certainly room left for a sequel.

That was a truly bad movie, full of actors I really can't stand too.

Unbroken...the much publicized movie directed by Angelina Jolie. The true story of Olympian Lewis Zamperini...who survives a plane crash in WWII...spends 47 days drifting at see...rescued by the Japanese and put into a concentration camp. Worth watching IMO. 6/10.

Having read the book I am not sure I want to see the movie.

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno - Rurôni Kenshin: Kyôto Taika-hen (2014) - IMDb

Japanese samurai type fighting movie.

Basically, one bloke was a government killer now wants to take down the country and a bit evil. Another chap is a fighter who has vowed never to kill again, ending up having to fight his own demons to try and save the country.

Anyway, the storyline drags on a bit and is a bit windy but it's quite intriguing and sets things up nicely as well as having some great battles.

There's supposedly another movie coming out that's a continuation at some point.

Worth a punt if you light sword fighting.

The Interview

It's shit, but not nearly as shit as I thought it was going to be.

It's not very funny at all though.

Gets a bit silly and gory towards the end when the action kicks off.
