This weeks collection of movies:

Byzantium: Weird little Brit vampire type movie. A little to slow for my tastes but it wasn't entirely crap from a story point of view and kind of interesting theme to with. Worth a punt for fans of the genre. Not to bloody or gory.

4/10

The Raid Redemption: Thai movie, mentioned earlier I think. Anyway, it's stupid, the story line is rubbish and the characters are terrible. That said, I still really enjoyed this movie as it was great action. No need to read the subtitles because there's nothing in the storyline. Bad gang dude is hiding out in an apartment building, cops go after it and a blood bath ensues as they hunt each other out from floor to floor.

Lots of shooting, lots of knife fights and serious knuckle beatings.

Fun stuff.
7/10 for the fighting genre.

Only God Forgives

Tad to slow and pretentious to be any fun this. Ryan Gosling and the Driver dude, but not as naff, slightly. Basically it's about Gosling being a shit so does a runner to Bangkok. His brother kills a teen, who's family get revenge and then it's all about the crazy mother who wants her revenge back and lots of nasty stuff goes on with some fighting, some gun fights, mostly slicing and dicing of people.

It's just to pretentious of a storyline and characters and the pacing is way off to make this movie any fun to watch, just found it really boring and I didn't care about any of the characters.

2/10

Aaaaaaargh!
Run away.........run away.......

All that hype about this movie and not one disembowelment!
No eyeballs flying out of ears; nothing!

I am sorry, but all this zombie-mania has commercialised the "classics" into another plastic Hollywood product.

Suggestion: sit down and watch "Zombie (flesh eaters)" by Fulci.
Now that is a zombie film.
They don't ever really get explained, they shamble along and do completely over the top nasty things to the living.

Ok, rant over.

Didn't watch World War Z with the mindset that it's a "zombie" movie.

If I wanted to watch a great zombie movie, I would have watched Zombieland

Err! OK, I suppose. Were you expecting a romcom?

The clue was kinda in the title.

I wish I could blame the med's but I'm not on any. Never really gave the title much thought,

Figured it was another Armageddon, end of the world deadly virus type of thing.

They did mention a bad form of rabies in the movie though, so I should have clued in sooner.

Curse of Chucky

Not as scary or grim as previous ones, some nice cameos though and just as silly as ever, the doll is back, people die.

The doll is creepy though. And ginger.

My Way - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606384/

Korean WW2 movie and a really very good one it was too!

Basically, Japanese bloke and Korean bloke are marathon runners wanting to run in the Olympics, country colonisation, then war get in the way and both end up fighting for the Japanese, then do a spell fighting for the Germans. You have to see it to see what they go through.

Based on a true story, how closely I don't know but it's a good tale of perseverance and the horrors of war, which were really nicely done, fairly graphic without being gory and you don't really notice it's a 2+hour movie.

8/10
