I saved a pic from online, converted it to a pdf, added text to the pdf with my Adobe Acrobat, then saved it back to a pic/jpg to upload.

There's probably a more intelligent way to do it. I have limited software at my disposal.

Sounds like too much of a faff. I have GIMP at home though, maybe I'll fart around on that later.

I just use 'Paint' - an old version.
Depending on what pictures I can find, I do different things. For the Alien one, I took one of the Alien versus (whatever) posters and pasted into Paint. Widened the space so there was room to paste Ripley off to the side (OMG I just realised I called her Ridley as in Scott...how embarrassing ) and then cropped that pic before pasting that on the side of the original pic.

Sometimes adding the name is a bit fiddly but you get the hang of it quickly. And Paint takes the addition of new text.
