He's got a completely different face to Loki when we first got him

That's orange cats for you! He looks like a lion though, very cool.

They're both lovely cats.

I love big cats and I cannot lie.

Though we do have a small cat that snuck in by being born in our front yard, I should've built a wall.

Legolas came upstairs on Friday night for the first time since June. I'd been trying to coax him up with treats and he'd got up to the top step before Pippin came and got in a fight with him. I figured he'd been hiding in the basement ceiling (it's unfinished) again when I'd brought some food down because I didn't see him. Went into my room to get ready for a shower and he just appeared behind me!

He's been up and down all weekend, even with a few minor hissing matches and a chase or two. I think he finally just decided he was ready to come back up. It was nice to see him back up exploring again.

They do get used to new things, eventually. They aren't big on change, in general, but learn to deal.

I knew it would take a while but I didn't expect him to just appear like that. Makes me think he's been going up and down the stairs since I started leaving the basement door open all day a while ago.

Though they got into a fight over breakfast this morning, so they could have spent all day ripping seven shades of shite out of each other for all I know.

He could be Legolas' long lost brother

4 days on now from his return upstairs and she's still hissing half-arsedly but he's not chasing her as much. Just looks bewildered half the time. We're approaching a truce, I feel. As soon as the cold bites the air they'll be huddled together for warmth anyway, because cats gonna cat.

Cats are just so damned cat. They'll get used to each other, and then they'll probably like each other. But that won't stop them from extracting the maximum possible upheaval, mayhem, and general awkwardness in the meantime. Cos cat.

They do enjoy pushing each other's buttons, and being generally petty. It's entertaining up until the point where I have to get up and do something.

We sometimes throw bits of rolled up paper at ours if he's doing something annoying.

It avoids getting up.

Sometimes I pretend to be asleep so it becomes someone else's problem.

Usually pretending to be asleep leads to actually being asleep too, which can often be nice.
