Cats have it all figured out. We have much to learn from them.

Fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency. The birds fly into holes in the foliage, and the cats know about it. I built a bird feeder for a customer out of leftover lumber and her cat camped right inside when she saw the birds; looked funny as hell.

Birds are too much trouble.....but the number of tailless geckos is amazing. Who needs something that can move in 3 dimensions?

Halloween has come and gone, and Pumpkin remains here this year in contrast to his previous form for absconding to his other home. Whether this lack of escapist adventure is due to his advancing years or due to the cold front that has brought in a couple of inches of snow I don't know, but he has for the time being established his position in the comfy chair nearest the fireplace. I envisage the cat will tonight sleep for 8 hours, and then as usual plod repeatedly around my head at 4am in the morning in his signature request to be allowed out.

So there are. Honestly I struggle counting kittens but normally the excuse is that they're rushing around like lunatics, not sitting still!
Edit - the missing kid is Nori

You need a cat flap.

Well not you personally. Pumpkin does.
