It’s just a strange feeling that I am awake and aware but cannot move or say anything.
The paralysis itself just refers to the brain waking up before the muscle relaxing hormone wears off.

The feelings of the demon on your chest, etc, are more to do with you still being in a dream state when your brain wakes up. But since it's happening to you in the morning, you likely aren't dreaming anymore at that point.

When I wake I often cannot move or say anything for 10/20 minutes, although I am vaguely aware of things going on around me. Does anyone else experience this?
Only if woken suddenly by external noises (birds shouting very loudly outside, etc) then I'm in limbo for a few minutes. If I wake naturally, I'm up and running in a few seconds.

One really weird one a few days ago; in real life I lent OH my laptop for a Skype with friends as her webcam had stopped working. M-Soft said it would remember my login details, did it hell.

Didn't have a clue on my Skype name, password anything, all gone... in a dream the next night 'someone' told me my Skype password. I awoke a bit unsure with 8 characters fresh in my head, worked the password backwards via BBLogic © to get to my Skype name.

It worked...

I didn't say it was any good.

Sometimes I wake from a dream and spend some time knowing it was a dream but trying to come up with a solution as if it was really something I had to sort out.

I remember details about a lot of my old dreams. Not the full 'story' as such, but moments from dreams I had over 30 years ago are still fresh images.

I’ve just fallen asleep on the sofa. I was aware of my iPad pinging for about 10 mins but couldn’t move to answer it.

That happens to me in the morning with my alarm, except instead of can't move I choose not to

Default Re: Dreams

Last night's dream had another recurring theme, and a partial recurring location.

Any time, or well most times anyway, I have a dream where I'm at work it ends up being a combination of all the places I've worked in, but on a much larger scale, usually with people from my current job and a lot of NPCs who I can only assume are people I've seen at the shops or whatever to fill in the space, who may or may not speak to or otherwise interact with me during the course of the dream. Last night for some reason it was focused around me cleaning my office, but I also for some reason had a desk in the open plan area of the building as well that I would be sitting at for a while. I can only really remember images from it rather than actual sequences or dialogues other than I do remember thinking I needed my filing cabinet from my real life office I am sitting in now, to be moved into my dream office, but there was nowhere to put them.

I hate work dreams though, because when I wake from them, it means I have to go into work.

Years ago I had a work dream but one of those where all I'm wearing is a shirt. Smart-casual-polo style.

I'm walking down the stairs looking for something else to wear and I hear the voice of our new district manager, on a visit, coming up.

It's in the time of when we had a new dress code - shirt and tie for the blokes, no variation - and I race back up the stairs not because of my near naked state but because it's the wrong kind of shirt.
