I had a dream last night! The first for ages I think it's because temps have dropped. I was at the rastro market every sat in Jalon, I brought a big knit chunky cardi and when the grand kids were little we always brought them on the market a real Peruvian lama wool with animals knitted in to it jumper .So I brought a large one and ask my wife to cut it in half and stich the back of it on the back my cardi and the front on the front. I woke warm and disappointed no cardi!!! Watch this space you never know just maybe?

I had a visit from my sleep paralysis demon the other night. About 3am or so I guess and I'm sure a cat was sitting on me at the time but all I remember is that before the veil fell away and I was still in the dream state I was trying to shout "who's there" and even though I couldn't move, in the dream I was reaching up and it felt like someone took my hand.

Then fast as anything I slipped into being fully awake and my wife was asking if I was ok. I guess the words in my dream came out as mumbled screaming so she probably thought I was having a mare. Woke up my poor daughter as well.

One of the more vivid sleep paralysis dreams I've had in a while though.

I'm sure I used to get this when I was little but not any more. I remember being asleep, yet being somehow conscious of being asleep and trying to wake up and move but not being able to. The I would "break through", and breathe, and be awake.

Don't remember any hand holding though.

I remember reading that 1 in 3 people experience sleep paralysis, it's pretty normal. Usually the muscle relaxing hormone wears off quickly but every now and then the dream state lasts a bit longer than usual. I've had it off and on as long as I can remember.

I'm 99% sure the hand holding was just my dreaming brain interpreting Legolas trying to get me to pet him because in his mind I was awake.

Let's just be glad he wasn't biting you then, or god knows what your brain would have thought.

That sounds frightening (the sleep paralysis thing, not the cat thing).

Here, have a label - you have a REM parasomnia. I know this because I have one as well, although a different breed. Mine's REM sleep behavior disorder and before I was diagnosed (via polysomnography) I was convinced I was going crackers.

For all I know he could have been biting me

It's only frightening until the dream part wears off, and it doesn't happen every night luckily!

I got the 'formal' diagnosis but not sure why I bothered. Melatonin doesn't help and the only other treatment that might help is a benzo drug, which I've rejected. The drug won't make it go away, it just masks the effect but gives rise to all sorts of other problems.

It's not a nice thing to have and the possibility that it's an early sign of Parkinson's or other neurodegenerative conditions worries me, but there's not much I can do about it. It's a relatively rare thing and research to date is scarce. Could be worse, I could have had something that vetoed me eating cheese

I dreamed there was a football match on the TV i wanted to watch. It seemed like it was at work - although the surroundings and people were nothing like my work ever was.

I had the TV where I wanted it and on the right channel. If I looked away or went off to do something, upon return or looking back, the TV would be in a different place or the channel was different. I'd change it back but the same thing would happen.
Then I couldn't find the remote for it. Lots of remotes but not the right one.

Of course, lots of remotes suggested other TVs too but someone else's TV had an announcement that none of the games were available due to some technical issue.

A new toilet had been installed at work. And it worked.

Unfortunately the entry point was a sliding, see through glass door. And on the other side it was also a sliding, see through glass door.

I was the only one bothered by it.
